Quarantine. A place I only really knew about growing up on Sydney's Northern Beaches where Manly Quarantine Station is located.
After a long and drawn out move to Singapore (thanks to these unusual times), I was in for a new experience in a new location. Starting with none other than quarantine. Thankfully for me, the time frame had been reduced from 14 to 10 days just days before we were due to depart. I was certainly in for an interesting ride having only just started my coding bootcamp with Coder Academy and having to share a small room with my husband who would be working local Singapore time, while I ran off Sydney time.
Adding to the mix, I had my first big assessment due during this time which involved a presentation of my work. It was going to be a busy 10 days with lots of screen time.
Thankfully, I am well organised and knew to be prepared for my time in quarantine. Even going as far to take my studies to the bathroom for moments where the booming voice of my husband became too much.
While I didn't have high hopes for my productivity, I actually accomplished a lot more in quarantine than I had expected and had managed to arrange a relatively good routine for myself.
By day 9 I will admit, I was going a bit stir crazy but with only one more sleep to go it didn't really matter. I had many things to be grateful for and a new and interesting experience to share with others. So now if anyone asks for tips on how to manage quarantine I have some tips (but hopefully it won't be necessary for much longer!).
